2012 March for Life in Washington, DC Right to Life of Stark County will again be sponsoring buses to Washington, DC, for the March for Life. Buses will leave Saint Michael's Parish in Canton at 11:00 PM on January 22 and return at approximately 12:00 AM on January 24. Because of our presence at the March, 40 Days for life, Life Chain, and praying at the abortion mills we are seeing a decrease in the number of abortions. We cannot, however, give up, as the unborn are still crying out for our help. Please help us fill our buses. Due to the high cost of fuel, it is necessary to raise the price to $60 per person. The second family member goes for $55 as well as students and senior citizens. If you cannot go and would like to send someone to represent you, a check is sufficient. We have individuals waiting who could take your place. This is truly a rewarding experience, and many pro-life representatives will be marching to have their presence felt and voices heard. Life is a precious and sacred gift we must protect. We will let our government know now more than ever that we will not let this crime of abortion continue. You can make reservations by sending your check to Theresa Thomas Mansfield at 12455 Weygandt St., Canal Fulton, OH 44614, or by calling Theresa at 330-854-4702. Deadline for reservations is January 4, 2012. Checks are payable to Right to Life of Stark County. Make your reservations early, space is limited. An optional registration form is available here. Right To Life of Stark County Life Chain a BIG Success! Right to Life of Stark County had it's annual Life Chain on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011 and it was a huge success! After calling on churches that have repeatedly supported the chain, we called on several of our churches to step up their commitment and they came through. Little did many know, the front page of the Canton Repository had just run a story on their front page that indicated what many pro-lifers knew for many years, abortions have been steadily decreasing, in Ohio and Stark County. But then, the Canton repository followed up with ANOTHER front page story on Life Chain, itself! "This is more attention than we're accustumed to," said Mark Stevenson, Executive Director of Right to Life of Stark County. "We normally get ignored by the Repository, so this is a pleasant surprise. I believe what is bringing so much attention is the fact that everyone is waking up to what all of up pro-lifers already knew, abortion isn't working and nor has it ever been the solution to peoples' problems. That is why the pregnancy support centers have taken off so well. It is that kind of support that the pro-life movement has invented to counter Roe v. Wade, which is bad law, by the way," Many pro-lifers were quoted in the Life Chain edition to the Repository. At Right to Life of Stark County, we are encouraging pro-lifers around the area to respond with a Letter to the Editor and express support for pieces in both editions that you are appreciative and challenge the pieces of the stories that are inacurrate. As always, we thank all pro-lifers in and around the Stark County area for supporting Right to Life of Stark County! E-mail us at: exdir@starkrtl.com

Former Planned Parenthood Director Visits Stark County!
Right to Life of Stark County recently held their annual Celebrate Life Dinner. They had a bigger draw than normal, however, when they contacted Abby Johnson of Texas (former Planned Parenthood Director) to give a message of hope. Abby resigned in October 2009 from her position and made national headlines.
Mark Stevenson, Executive Director of RTL of Stark County, said, "Abby did not disappoint us - she went out of her way to help our chapter." He also said that the event was "exceptional - it was a moving experience". After the invocation, Pastor Walter Moss said, "you're going to be in for a real blessing tonight," referring to the testimony of Abby Johnson.
Abby said "it was God that day." An ultrasound finally gave her the reason to leave. As she watched the infant struggling for its life, Abby realized the truth. Stevenson said, "She's not a traditional pro-life speaker... (She was) a person against us pro-lifers." In fact, Abby was able to share specifics about Planned Parenthood in their strategies in dealing with genetics, and sadly, black genocide.
RTL of Stark County also presented an award to their chapter president that night, Mary Alice Kring, for the work that she did in preparation for the event.
A big thank you to all who attended and made the dinner so successful!

Welcome to
RTL of Stark County
This web site is version two for us! We hope you take a look around. Most everything we do will show up here on our web portal as we continue to develop the maximum opportunities to connect with you, our constituent public, and keep you informed. For many years Right to Life chapters depended on a mailing list to communicate to the community at large. However, today, you see us utilizing technologies, such as the Internet and e-mail lists to activate volunteers in the greater Stark County area. But this site is interactive. You have an opportunity to sign up for events, volunteer, view blogs, view local statistical content, participate in our forum area, read legislative news in Ohio and Washington, and comment on this site. News feeds on the Advocacy page to the left and Quick News, such as Habitat for Humanity considering building a Planned Parenthood facility. All right here on this site!
This site creates so many new opportunities for you to get to know us and join with us, entering into the advocacy role to protect life from conception to the end of natural life. You will also discover that we partner with other community groups to bring events and speakers that will interest you. If you surf this site, you will see we are active and have many community events. Please look around and see what we are doing. Join us!

Abby Johnson, Former Planned Parenthood Director
ABBY JOHNSON
Former Planned Parenthood Director
Abby Johnson quit her job. That simple act has become a national news story because Johnson, 29,

was the director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Texas who said she experienced a "change of heart" while participating in an abortion procedure. Johnson has now joined a group called Coalition for Life, which prays outside the clinic where she worked.
Interview with Mike Huckabee:
"I had never seen an abortion happen on an ultrasound," she said. "My job during the procedure was to hold the probe on the woman's abdomen. I could see the whole profile of the baby 13 weeks head to foot. I could see the whole side profile. I could see the probe. I could see the baby try to move away from the probe."
Johnson worked at the Planned Parenthood clinic in Bryan, Texas, for nine years, first as a volunteer and then as the director. Her duties included running the family planning and abortion programs. The clinic performed abortions two days a month. Although she had seen ultrasounds before, including during her own pregnancy, Johnson said she had never seen an ultrasound image during an abortion. She is unclear why, as the director of the clinic, she was asked to be in the procedure room on that day, because it was not a normal part of her duties. Still, Johnson said, the experience changed her forever. She knew it was time to leave after she watched the baby "crumple" as it was vacuumed out of a patient's uterus.
"I just thought, 'What am I doing?'" she said. "And then I thought, 'Never again.'I looked out the window and saw a couple of women praying and I thought, 'That's where I need to go.â

Wow, and just what do pro-lifers think about Sara Palin? Um, well, it's big news, like the Titanic? Pro-lifers breathed a huge sigh of relief and even got excited when John McCain announced his choice for VP running mate. By a lot of standards, Gov. Palin was the energizer bunny for the campaign, because simply, without her, well, it wasn't lookin' pretty.
so much has been expressed about the addition of Gov. Palin to the ticket and so many conservatives have even expressed their happiness by crying for joy, and yet, one has to wonder why Senator McCain hadn't courted the pro-life conservatives any sooner? How much further would we have been down the road had he done this weeks ago?
But a lot of that doesn't matter, at this point. What matters is bringing on the opponents. SO, now the question gets served. Are you helping to campaign for a pro-lifer? Even if it is for Gov. Palin, are you doing something? We have a REAL REASON now. Let's get busy!
Imagine the next US Supreme Court pick...
